At Weightlifter safety isn’t just a ‘bolt-on’ extra, it is built into every tipping body and trailer we make. All proprietary parts are vetted to ensure they meet Weightlifter’s stringent safety demands. Strict quality control at every stage of construction means every body and trailer we make meets or exceeds legislative requirements. All add-ons such as steps, hand rails etc are treated with the same scrutiny as the body or trailer chassis itself. The result is a complete package which reduces risk to operators and the public.
Weightlifter pride themselves on introducing the latest technology to reduce Health & Safety risks for all their employees. For example On Torch welding extraction, Low Vibration tool buying policy. All work equipment including overhead cranes, material handling equipment, heavy machinery including press brakes and guillotines are serviced and safety checked every 6 months to satisfy PUWER and LOLER regulations. All Health & Safety records are audited annually by an external auditor.
Aluminium and Steel fabrication has always been recognized as a hazardous occupation, it is our aim at Weightlifter to ensure that the associated risks are kept to an absolute minimum. We seek to manage health and safety impacts to mitigate risks to our employees and those affected by our undertakings.
Our Scunthorpe facility has its own resident site Health & Safety Manager, safety on Weightlifter site is demonstrably of the highest importance.
We operate a combined Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Management System. The management systems we employ seek to adopt the best practice as detailed in “Successful Health and Safety Management”; Weightlifter always ensures compliance with the most current Regulations.
Environment
It is our policy to give environmental issues the highest priority. Our tipping bodies and tipping trailers are built with recyclable materials. Other substances are disposed of in the appropriate manner to ensure as far as reasonably practical, adequate protection of the environment is provided thus minimizing exposure to potential hazards and risks. As a minimum standard, the Company will control materials strictly in accordance with the provision of all current legislation.
Quality
Weightlifter are accredited, for the purpose of quality, to BS EN ISO 9001 and this international standard is used as a benchmark for us to meet our aims and objectives in terms of performance, customer satisfaction and continual improvement.
